Kristin Nelson is Head of Audio at the Boston Globe, working with producers, editors and reporters to capture the Globe's award-winning journalism for audio audiences. She launched the Spotlight podcast and co-wrote the first season, Snitch City. Kristin is an experienced journalist, documentarian, story editor and audio producer. Between 2007 and 2022 she worked with national CBC Radio programs, including The Current, As It Happens, The House, Ideas and The Doc Project. Kristin has covered everything from Canadian federal elections and the aftermath of tornadoes to water shortages in the Middle East and Barack Obama's election night in Chicago. Her work has been recognized by the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Awards, the Scripps Howard Awards, the du-Pont Columbia Awards, the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma, the Canadian Association of Journalists, the Canadian Journalism Foundation, the National Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Third Coast International Audio Festival, RTDNA Canada, the New York Festivals Radio Awards and the Gracie Awards. Before CBC, her freelance work appeared in The Toronto Star and This Magazine and she earned degrees in international development, political science and journalism. |
