- August 2023 to present -- Head of Audio at the Boston Globe. I am working with Boston Globe editors and reporters to build the company's audio program and capture the Globe's award-winning journalism for audio audiences. I am guiding the Globe's long-term audio strategy, shaping editorial decisions, managing producers, nurturing existing podcasts and helping to launch new audio offerings for New England and beyond.
- May 2022 to August 2023 -- Senior Audio Producer with the Boston Globe. I worked with a small team at the Boston Globe to produce and co-wrote the investigative podcast, Murder in Boston, presented with HBO Documentary Films. The podcast explores the 1989 shooting of a white couple, Chuck and Carol Stuart, and the police manhunt that followed, in search of a Black suspect. The 10-part series reveals hard truths, unveils explosive new findings, and changes the narrative of a story long cemented in Boston’s lore.
- April 2021 to May 2022 – Senior Producer and documentary maker with CBC National Radio. Over a year I reported and produced long-form audio stories and feature interviews with several CBC Radio national programs. I made documentaries with the narrative storytelling program, The Doc Project, and produced several hour-long episodes of Ideas, including a documentary about authoritarianism. I also covered the trucker convoy protest and occupation in Ottawa for The Current and reported about energy poverty and kids climate lit for CBC’s climate change program, What on Earth. During a stint with The Sunday Magazine I produced feature interviews, reported narrative audio stories and contributed to program redevelopment.
- April 2019 to April 2021 – Senior Producer of CBC Radio’s The House. As senior producer I made editorial and programming decisions and led a team of five people. I took pride in breaking news, improving the show’s audio production, telling political stories that featured the voices of a diverse range of Canadians and creating a respectful, creative workplace. In this role I was also responsible for launching and overseeing Party Lines, a weekly politics podcast from CBC News and CBC Podcasts and leading a small team making Party in the USA, a short run spin-off podcast examining the U.S. 2020 presidential election.
- February to May 2019 – Producer, writer and editor of CBC Ottawa’s investigative podcast, The Band Played On. I worked closely with CBC Ottawa reporter Julie Ireton to craft her investigation of decades of abuse by teachers at Ottawa public schools into a seven episode podcast exposing wrongdoing and telling the stories of survivors still coping with the repercussions. We were a small but mighty team, working on a very tight timeline. I co-wrote the podcast with Julie, as well as producing, editing and sound designing each episode.
- July 2016 to February 2019 – Ottawa National Producer with CBC Radio’s The Current and As It Happens. In this role I was producing primarily for The Current and responsible for helping both national shows boost their coverage of federal politics and local Ottawa stories. It entailed working closely with CBC’s Parliamentary bureau, managing relationships and a great deal of multitasking. I did everything from send quirky tape to As It Happens to a 20 minute talk-tape on The Current after the National Capital Region was struck by six tornadoes in September of 2018.
- July 2007 to July 2016 – Producer with CBC Radio’s The Current. In my role as producer I was responsible for pitching story ideas every morning and producing several half-hour segments for the show each week. Producing for the show requires creativity, critical thinking, incredible time management and a sense of humour. Over the years I presented on air many times and produced at least a dozen special episodes of the show.
